Our Statement of Faith

THE TRINITY: We have similar Trinitarian beliefs to all the other Christian churches in this area, that God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit

GOD: We believe that all creation owes its existence to God: That He is eternal, the Alpha and Omega, and that He has a best plan for and knows each of His children intimately. He is the source of all light, goodness, beauty and love

JESUS: We acknowledge the virgin birth of Jesus, his earthly life and embraces His teachings about God and the Kingdom of heaven; we worship Him as Saviour and Lord

SALVATION: We affirm and believe in the one, perfect sacrifice of Jesus on the cross for our salvation and his resurrection and ascension to the Father as the key elements of the good news for all His children. We believe that it is by God's grace that we are saved, not of our own merit or by anything we can do.

GREAT COMMISSION: We believe that it is our task, by whatever means, to share with all we meet, that the gospel (good news) of salvation is for them too.

PERSONAL CHOICE: We believe that all who have heard this gospel have free choice, while earthly life lasts, to acknowledge Jesus as Saviour and Lord; in His words, to be born again to eternal life.

HOLY SPIRIT: We affirm that God the Holy Spirit has been sent to us as power from on high and that His presence in our lives challenges, directs, confirms, empowers and inspires us to live according to His best plan for each of us.

HOLY COMMUNION: Grace Community Church commemorates the eternal significance of the sacrifice of Jesus in regular, monthly services of Holy Communion. All who love the Lord Jesus are invited to take part through simple trust. The format of this part of the morning service may vary, but the instructional words of Jesus instituting the simple, memorial elements are always incorporated.

INFANT DEDICATION: Infants brought to the church by their parents may be dedicated on request: Baptism is left until they are of an age to seek this for themselves

ADULT BAPTISM: From time to time individuals, generally of teenage years through to adults of any age, may ask to be baptised to witness to their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. After satisfactory discussions with the Pastor, a baptism, usually for several candidates, is arranged, either as a separate event or celebrated as part of the morning service. Family and friends invited to stay for a church family lunch afterwards. Baptism, by total immersion, is administered by Pastor Andrew, Pastor Susan and/or Youth Pastor Andy. Each of those being baptised has the opportunity to make a statement witnessing to their beliefs and faith prior to being baptised.
