Hi Folks, Thought it was about time I wrote a little something about how Grace Seedlings toddlers group is going. Well..... since I last wrote we have pretty much doubled in numbers, so much so that Ross now has to do a double batch of sausage rolls!! As you may all ready know we like to stay open throughout the summer holidays and during the half term breaks as we feel its nice to have somewhere to go during these times and generally toddler clubs shutdown.... and you know how we like to be different! Of course with extra children, extra help has been needed and we now have a wonderful team of Grace Seedling helpers which can easily be spotted by their 'Grace Seedlings' polo shirts. (Thanks Nigel! xx) This half term went rather smoothly with the children making little Christmas cakes in tins. We are nothing if not adventurous!! The Children were covered in cake mix and smiles, so were most of the adults.... but a great time was had by all. We are going to have an icing session a bit closer to Christmas, which, personally I can't wait to see. I wonder how much icing will get on the cakes???? We are also planning to do a star making event for the Toybox charity in the next few weeks. The children will be able to decorate a star which will then be flown out to Brazil to be handed to street children in place of Christmas cards, to let them know that they are loved and thought of by children all over the world. We thought it would be nice if the children made one for themselves too to hang on their own tree as a reminder of their new 'friends' across the globe. We also have produced our very first Grace Seedlings Newsletter....(our talents our endless!) ok, ok, it was one of Ross's lovely children Nikki who designed it and edited it, but the words were ours! And last but not least, we have our first Christmas party coming up. Wow! There will be party games and festive music, Ross's cakes and lots of goodies! Of course it wouldn't be complete without a present for each child. Ooooh I cant wait! I shall probably look a bit like a Christmas pudding myself by then as I wil be rather heavily pregnant, still at least I can eat the mince pies almost guilt free....one for me, one for the bump! So thats about it folks, keep praying that God will keep Grace Seedlings growing and strong, and until next time God Bless, From the Grace Seedlings Team. |
